| Ichigo, before entering White Ridge, lived in Karakura town in Japan. His family opens a clinic called Kurosaki Hospital. His family members consists of his father, Kurosaki Isshin, and two younger sisters, Kurosaki Karin and Kurosaki Yuzu. His mother, Kurosaki Masaki passed away when he was still in primary school. She died in an accident trying to save Ichigo. Therefore to this day, Ichigo still feels guilty about robbing his family of their mother, their family's source of support. His father and sisters do not blame him for the accident, but he stills holds some part of guilt within him. From then onwards, his serious personality began to surface.
Ichigo was born with bright orange hair and brown eyes which is a very shocking combination for an Asian. Therefore, he was usually picked on by the seniors in his middle school in Japan. The reason they picked him out was because his hair was too outstanding. The teachers too, picked on him because of his hair and so, built up his distrust for teachers. Ichigo was always misunderstood. He studies very hard just to shut the teachers up and stop them from picking on him. He hates to lose, and therefore makes sure he would be able to win those seniors.
Things turned for the better for Ichigo in high school, where he made a bunch of friends who do not judge him based on his appearance. Ichigo, although aloof, opens up to his friends sometimes. He is usually oblivious to the people around him. There are times he cannot even recognise his own classmates or remember their names! He only knows people closer to him or sits near him in class. He is also very dense towards romantic feelings from girls, if they even dare to approach.
Ichigo received a scholarship to study at White Ridge due to his academic prowess. He was hesitant to accept it, worried about his two younger sisters at home. Part of his worry came from his father, who still acted like an immature kid at the age of forty. However, they finally persuaded him to take up the scholarship for it was a chance in a lifetime. He had played the role of the big brother and eldest son in the family for a long time. They were all able to take care of themselves already. Ichigo took up the scholarship after some thought. This was his opportunity to become independent and stop his family from worrying about him. However, he knew he would be thinking about them no matter where he was. |
